Aston Martin officially revealed the design of its AMR26 Formula 1 car during an event held on February 9 in Saudi Arabia, much to the anticipation of fans.
The AMR26 showcases a classic British Racing Green color palette, consistent with the team’s traditional aesthetic. This year’s iteration features a matte finish complemented by eye-catching lime green highlights.
While numerous fans labeled the livery as conservative, it garnered substantial acclaim nonetheless. One enthusiast remarked on Reddit, “They’ve opted for a matte look this year. It’s a safe design, but it was already quite appealing, so significant changes weren’t necessarily required. It has a few fresh elements, and I believe it will look splendid on the track.”
Another fan shared, “Aston Martin consistently shines through its distinctive color scheme,” while another added, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. However, it’s challenging to feel excited about this compared to the new innovations we’ve seen from others like McLaren.”
A New Era with Honda
The year 2026 marks the beginning of Aston Martin’s collaboration with Honda for its power units. Some supporters expressed a desire for more prominent Honda branding integrated into the AMR26’s design.
“I was hoping for more Honda logos in key areas like the wing, similar to the RB16B. Unfortunately, the new Honda font doesn’t appeal to me,” one fan commented.
Another follower expressed, “I anticipated seeing some red in the design due to Honda’s involvement, but I find this car to be quite appealing, making it one of my favorites this season.”
“As a fan of Aston Martin who appreciates the green, I’m thrilled that it remains true to its roots. However, the new Honda font does not stand out well on the car, which is disappointing given the exclusive power unit,” another supporter noted.
The livery debut comes just ahead of the initial three-day pre-season testing phase scheduled in Bahrain from February 11 to 13, setting the stage for an exciting Formula 1 season.
