The leadership at Racing Bulls has expressed admiration for Arvid Lindblad’s composed and professional demeanor showcased during the Barcelona Shakedown. Team Principal Alan Permane remarked that the rookie’s demeanor is reminiscent of Isack Hadjar’s early days last season.
Having joined the team during their livery unveiling in January, Lindblad gained valuable experience with the 2026 car at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, completing laps on both Day 3 and Day 4 of the event.
When asked about his impressions of the 18-year-old’s performance on and off the track at the conclusion of the week, Permane stated, “I am very impressed with both aspects. He remains calm and collected—nothing seems to unsettle him.”
“He reminds me of how I described Isack last year—he has a strong desire to learn and absorb as much information as possible. He asks numerous questions and seeks advice on various aspects of racing.”
Permane continued, emphasizing the team’s commitment to supporting Lindblad’s development, noting, “The most crucial factor is the pace, and it appears he possesses it. The two drivers share many similarities, so far, everything looks promising.”
Chief Technical Officer Tim Goss echoed this sentiment when he assessed Lindblad’s adaptation earlier in the week, praising how the rookie has been managing the 2026 vehicle, which adheres to new technical standards.
“He maintains a calm and professional demeanor, and his feedback is straightforward,” Goss commented. “For someone of his age, his performance is highly impressive. His time in the car has primarily focused on acclimating to this new type of vehicle.”
Goss elaborated on the challenges of the new car, stating, “These vehicles are significantly different—not only in their overall handling but also in energy management. Lindblad has remained remarkably composed and professional throughout this process.”
As the team continues to refine the car’s balance, Goss noted, “His feedback has been refreshingly simple and clear. We are genuinely impressed with his progress.”
Lindblad, alongside his Racing Bulls teammate Liam Lawson, will next take control of their new car during the pre-season testing in Bahrain, with the first session scheduled for February 11-13, followed by a second test from February 18-20.
As he gears up for his inaugural season in Formula 1, Arvid Lindblad’s steady approach has already made a positive impression on the Racing Bulls team.
