Trump to Present World Cup Trophy at Final, Confirms Gianni Infantino

Donald Trump to present World Cup trophy to winners, says Gianni Infantino

Gianni Infantino has announced that Donald Trump will present the World Cup trophy to the victors during the final match on July 19. This marks a significant moment as the tournament progresses, having started on June 11.

The Fifa president highlighted the close relationship he has established with Trump leading up to these finals, although the U.S. president has remained relatively quiet about the tournament in public forums.

In an interview with Fox and Friends, Infantino revealed the plans for Trump to take a prominent role in the trophy presentation ceremony at the New York New Jersey Stadium. This is reminiscent of Trump’s appearance at last year’s Club World Cup final, where he presented the trophy to Chelsea.

“We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course,” Infantino stated.

When asked if the two would make the presentation together, Infantino replied, “Of course, we are together all the time.”

“They told me that he was going to present the trophy and then exit the stage and I thought that he was going to exit the stage, but he wanted to stay,” James recalled.

James also shared that Trump congratulated him and his team for their victory, urging them to enjoy the moment, though he admitted, “To be honest it was quite loud. I couldn’t hear too much. He just congratulated me and the team for lifting the trophy and told us to enjoy the moment.”

Cole Palmer, who netted two goals against Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his surprise at Trump’s presence. He commented, “I knew he was going to be here, but I didn’t know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy. I was a bit confused, yes.”
