Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, has expressed his admiration for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance by Benito Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny.
This performance has sparked considerable discussion, particularly as the Puerto Rican artist boldly addressed contemporary political issues in the United States. Ocasio was among various celebrities who donned an ‘ICE Out’ pin during the 2026 Grammy Awards, just a week prior to the Super Bowl, where he articulated his political stances during his acceptance remarks.
“Before I express my gratitude to God, I must say ICE out,” Ocasio stated. “Love is more powerful than hate. We need to be different. If we fight, we must do so with love. We do not harbor hatred for them; we love our people and our families. There is a way to do this, with love, and let us not forget that.”
Hamilton, who attended the Super Bowl alongside his rumored partner Kim Kardashian, chose to publicly support Bad Bunny, describing the performance as profoundly motivating.
“That was one of the most significant halftime shows in Super Bowl history,” Hamilton noted in his Instagram Story. “In a nation and a world led by individuals whose primary aim is to promote division, we saw an artist unite a diverse audience with a message of solidarity.”
“It gave me chills. I hold Benito in the highest regard for the show he delivered. It was not a showcase of personal glory, but rather a celebration of the people. I am genuinely inspired. Although I do not speak Spanish, his call for unity struck a chord with me.”
“Seeing the Grenada flag made me feel an immediate connection, as my heritage is from there. The Caribbean is my home. As he said, love is the only force stronger than hatred.”
