A visually impaired gamer who gained attention on TikTok is set to organize a fundraising livestream aimed at supporting a charity focused on vision loss.

Dominic Hall’s TikTok video, which demonstrates his gameplay in Mortal Kombat utilizing sound cues, has amassed an impressive 2.5 million views.

On February 13th, from 17:00 to 19:00 GMT, Hall will host a charity stream on Twitch for iSightCornwall, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals with sight loss in Cornwall.

Having initially volunteered for the charity and later joining their team, Hall expressed immense pride when witnessing clients leave appointments with newfound abilities they believed were unattainable after losing their vision.

“This is one of the driving forces behind my commitment to gaming and demonstrating my unique approach,” Hall stated. “I aim to motivate other blind or partially sighted individuals to explore gaming while also emphasizing the significance of accessibility features to developers and enthusiasts alike.”

At the age of three, Hall was diagnosed with a brain tumor located in the central cluster of his brain, which severely impacted his optic nerve in the right eye and caused damage to the left, ultimately leaving him with only 10% of his vision.

Throughout his life, Hall adapted his gaming strategies, positioning himself closer to screens, utilizing magnifiers on handheld devices, and exploring various gaming genres to enhance his experience.

In 2022, he unfortunately lost the remaining vision in his left eye; however, he remains undeterred in his passion for gaming.

Raising Awareness

The livestream will be facilitated by Babcock International Group, which selected iSightCornwall as its charitable partner for the Association for Project Management (APM)’s Challenge Award.

A representative from Babcock emphasized that every cent raised during the event will be allocated to assist those with sight loss in Cornwall.

Carole Theobald, the chief executive of iSightCornwall, remarked, “Engaging in online streaming and fundraising as part of our Gaming for Good initiative is an innovative approach to promote our mission while generating essential funds. Collaborating with Babcock has been instrumental in advancing our channel and outreach efforts.”
