Iconic soundtracks from beloved video games such as The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy are set to be performed by a full orchestra during a unique concert in Liverpool.

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Robert Ames, will present a carefully curated selection of pieces, influenced by input from gaming enthusiasts via social media polls.

Marek Smagala, a representative from the Liverpool Game-Dev Network, remarked on the emotional connection that both developers and fans share with the music from their favorite titles.

He highlighted, “Liverpool boasts a rich legacy in gaming, and the community is experiencing a vibrant resurgence.”

In addition to classics like Zelda and Final Fantasy, the concert will showcase music from modern hits such as The Last of Us, Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and others.

Elle Osili Wood, the presenter of Radio Three’s Sound of Gaming, who will also host the event, expressed enthusiasm about the live experience, stating, “When heard in person, these video game scores transform into something truly enchanting, transporting audiences on an extraordinary, immersive journey that honors the artistry of storytelling through music.”
