Igor Tudor Signs On as Interim Coach for Spurs

Igor Tudor has officially been appointed as the interim head coach for Tottenham Hotspur, stepping in until the conclusion of the current season. This decision follows the dismissal of Thomas Frank earlier this week, with Spurs currently positioned five points clear of the relegation zone.

According to insiders, the club aimed to have an interim manager ready in time for players to resume training on Monday. Tudor, 47, finds himself back in management after being let go by Juventus in October 2025, where he experienced an eight-match stretch without a victory, ultimately leaving the team in eighth place in Serie A.

Throughout his diverse managerial journey, Tudor has served in several prominent roles, including at Lazio, Marseille, Galatasaray, and Udinese. He achieved his sole managerial trophy in 2013 when he guided Hajduk Split, his hometown club, to victory in the Croatian Cup.

As a player, Tudor spent nine years with Juventus, securing two Serie A titles and finishing as a runner-up in the 2003 Champions League final. He began his professional career at Hajduk Split and made a return to the club before retiring at the age of 30 in 2008 due to persistent ankle injuries.

His playing career also included loan spells at Trogir in Croatia and Siena in Italy. Notably, Tudor was part of the Croatian national team that reached the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup, eventually securing third place.

Tottenham had been considering several candidates for this interim position, including former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic and ex-Red Bull Leipzig head coach Marco Rose. Should Tudor impress during his tenure, he may be in contention for a permanent role.

However, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is also a strong contender for a permanent position, especially since his contract with the United States men’s national team concludes after this summer’s World Cup. Additionally, Roberto De Zerbi is another viable option, having recently parted ways with French club Marseille by mutual agreement.
